Ugh, I'm sick.
Like, influenza, sick.
So I made some simple stuff for you, and I'm also going to add a new music video I found yesterday by Die Antwoord.
This is what I made:
It's me, laughing at your pathetic life.
Nah, I'm just kidding. Seriously though, this was fun, but kind of annoying. Annoying - because I had to watch myself make this... This is exactly the kind of pretentious crap I tend to moan over when I'm in museums. It's just some filters thrown around randomly... Okay, so the original painting (the one in the bottom left) was actually hard to make. But then it's just 'copy+paste' and GradientFilter and boom, you've got yourself some high-end artsy-partsy piece. "What does it mean???" It means I was bored and had never done this before. Now that I have, I don't want to do it ever again. But I'm probably going to... Damn you, artistic inspiration!
And finally, this:
I love these guys. Their style of music is very... specific. Enjoy!
I'll see you soon!

Question on the art: high end artsy partsy art.....is it true art? a sheep floating in liquid by Damien Hirst....is it art? or what about Tracy Emin's ' Bed'.....is that art......compared to Turner, or the Impressionists, or the Pre Raphaelites?
ReplyDeleteQuestion on the music: without the video is it still effective? what's your definition of good music?
To discuss the meaning of "true art" is quite strenous, to be honest. How do you even begin to define what constitutes as "art"? Art to me is very much subjective. I still call "high end artsy partsy art" art. It's still art to me, I just don't like it. I think art is stretching its limits when you have to bring the inspiration to the piece, if you know what I mean. If it does not mean anything until you make it mean something, meaning that it is only art if the right person looks at it, then I think it's close to not being art. But being fickle in that way is a form of art as well, no? So it's difficult for me to seperate true art from bad art (or non-art).
ReplyDeleteAs for the video, I'm not sure what you mean by 'effective'. I like the music first and foremost, the video is not really that important. I just though it would be nicer to share a music video than just an audio clip.
Good music to me is as difficult to explain as good art is. It's so subjective. But to me, I guess something that changes your mindset or/and your movement.
